How beat licensing works
Buying a beat means buying permission to use it. What that permission covers — and what it does not — is the part worth reading carefully.
What a licence actually grants
A beat licence sets out how you may use the instrumental: which platforms, for how long, and in what kind of release.
A licence is not a transfer of copyright. Unless a contract explicitly says otherwise, the producer remains the author of the instrumental and you hold permission to use it.
The Beat Boy Studios licence
Each purchase includes the full-length WAV and a licence to use the beat in your own music, including commercial release on streaming, video and social platforms, with no recurring fees.
Beats are delivered as the full-length WAV with the Beat Boy Studios producer tag; untagged versions are available on request.
If you have a specific release, sync or distribution scenario in mind, ask us before you release and we will confirm the terms in writing.
Before you release
Keep a copy of your purchase confirmation — it is your proof of licence. Every purchase also stays available in your buyer library on the site.
Credit the producer where the platform allows it. It is not required by the licence, but it helps both of you.
